TRANSFORMATIVE CHANGE

Dalit Vikas Abhiyan Samiti (DVAS) in its journey of 30 years has positively impacted the lives of more than 21.65 lakh people in the state of Bihar. Working on inclusive development, inclusive education, gender equality, women and child rights, health and nutrition, sustainable livelihoods, urban homelessness and other important issues, Dalit Vikas Abhiyan Samiti (DVAS) is instrumental in providing developmental and constructive programs to reach the last mile.
Has been at the forefront. We work in 10 districts, 20 blocks and 250 villages of the state for dignified social equality in the lives of children and women of marginalized and excluded communities.

IMPACT PROGRAMS

1 350 Anganwadi workers and Mata Samiti members were given training on early childhood education, management, health protection of children, vaccination and social audit.
2 100 Ambedkar Kishori Club members were trained under Aao Banaye Gaon Child Marriage Free Program for prevention of child marriage.
3 2500 marginalized children are benefiting from the Nutrition cum Education Centre.
4 500 teachers were trained on multilingual education and play-based teaching activities for inclusive quality education in 100 pre-primary and primary schools.
5 1200 marginalized children and children deprived of pre-primary and primary education were provided nutrition and education through Jagjaggi Education Center.
6 2000 children benefited from Jagjagi Education Center to connect slum and homeless children with the mainstream of education 3854 children were enrolled in the school with the aim of connecting them with the mainstream of education. Has successfully ensured enrollment and retention of 3854 dropout children in Primary and secondary levels cross eight districts of Bihar in last 5years. 625 children involved in child labor were freed and trained to become self-employed.
7 Under Section 12AC of the Right to Education Act, 2009, 325 children from marginalized and weaker sections were enrolled in schools and became the mainstream of education. 500 teachers were trained on inclusive education pedagogy and play-based teaching activities for inclusive quality education in 100 pre-primary and primary schools.

10 500 urban homeless families were benefited with employment to ensure livelihood and 100 homeless families were registered as street vendors and linked to self-employment.
11 200 Ambedkar Yuva Sangathan's efforts to bring constructive change in the youth by involving the marginalized youth in social work and Panchayat scheme, encouraging sports, especially by organizing football games etc.
12 1250 Vidyalaya Shiksha Samiti (VSS) members were trained on maintenance of schools, prevention of child molestation and ensuring participation of members in schools.
13 A helpline was established to provide justice to 1418 victimized women with self-respect, through which women and adolescent girls were provided assistance in counseling and judicial work.
14 Covid 19, assistance provided to 2500 immigrant women
15 4224 women cadre were trained under Swabhiman Program for prevention of domestic violence and gender equality.
16 Child labor and child marriage free villages, all children in school; with the help of Bachpan Bachao Andolan, "Adarsh BAL Mitra Gram" was established in Ramchandranagar.
17 12000 illiterate women living on the margins were made literate under the Functional Literacy Programme, which was later integrated under the Akshar Aanchal Scheme and they were given certificates of literacy through NOIS.
18 In the Covid 19 Disaster, 8500 marginalized people were provided with hygiene kits and dry ration (50 kg rice, 25 kg flour, 2 kg mustard oil, salt, spices and soybean per person).
19 Under the MNREGA scheme, 4,500 jobs were registered and 5,500 people were asked to apply for work.
20 Work was done to provide proper treatment and safe life to 32 immigrant laborers suffering from AIDS.
21 10 women working as sex workers were freed and linked to self-employment
22 2200 adolescent girls were trained under skill training program regarding regular education, stay and safety of girls in schools.
23 100 Women trained on livelihood skills and demonstrating entrepreneurial activities to achieve economic self-reliance.
24 Under the Prevention of Scheduled Caste Atrocities, fact finding work was done to provide justice to 350 victimized women through National Scheduled Caste Commission and 120 victims were given compensation amount.
25 Under the Global Movement for Children campaign (ANSISS), 17000 children, especially girls, were linked to the mainstream.
26 500 urban homeless families were benefited with employment to ensure livelihood and 100 homeless families were registered as street vendors and linked to self-employment.
27 Under the MNREGA scheme, 12,500 jobs were registered and 5,500 people were asked to apply for work.
