Gender Equality & Women Empowerment

Where the walls of fear begin to fall, self-respect takes its first breath; and where discrimination once existed, a strong foundation of equality is now being built through courage, understanding, and compassionate leadership.

Translating ideas into real-world impact by challenging patriarchy, regressive mindsets, and exploitation.

No single approach can completely eliminate gender inequality and violence. Therefore, we work holistically across research, education, advocacy, and communication to drive meaningful change.

Through sensitive dialogue and awareness, we strive to transform realities so everyone can move towards a life of dignity.

A Living and Courageous Movement for Change

For Dalit Vikas Abhiyan Samiti (DVAS), gender equality is not just a policy—it is the voice of countless untold stories that have remained unheard for generations. It is a commitment to restore dignity to single women and widows who have been pushed to the margins of society; it is a promise to ensure safety and opportunity for adolescent girls who continue to live under the shadow of fear, discrimination, and exploitation. We stand with the harsh realities where trafficking of women and adolescent girls, female foeticide, social exclusion, caste-based violence, rape, inhuman atrocities, and neglect in education are not isolated incidents, but everyday lived experiences.

From Compassion to Empowerment, From Intervention to Justice

Dalit Vikas Abhiyan Samiti works through a dynamic, grassroots, and justice-centered approach to bring single women and widows out of social exclusion, prevent trafficking of women and adolescent girls, raise awareness against female foeticide, and ensure the effective implementation of the PCPNDT Act (PNDT Act). The organization strengthens institutional mechanisms to prevent caste-based violence, rape, inhuman atrocities, neglect in education, and ragging faced by marginalized women. It ensures the proper implementation of POSH/safety committees and conducts multi-level trainings, dialogues, and workshops focused on protection rights and safety of women. We do not just advise survivors—we stand with them. We facilitate their interface with protection officers, connect them with their constitutional rights, coordinate with various institutions to ensure justice, and strengthen their participation at every level. With active participation of Gram Panchayats, the organization operates a responsive and compassionate helpline—where every call is not just a complaint, but a cry for support. Through counseling, fact-finding, coordination with concerned departments and commissions, and sustained follow-up, we ensure that survivors receive justice with dignity. At the same time, we link them to government schemes for rehabilitation and empowerment. We have also intervened in cases of sexual exploitation of migrant women and women working in brick kilns, ensuring justice, compensation, and relief for survivors. Throughout this journey, Dalit Vikas Abhiyan Samiti has intervened in more than 6,500 cases, not only delivering justice but restoring hope, dignity, and courage in lives that were once broken.

From Silence to Voice

Change today is not just visible—it is deeply felt. Women who once accepted injustice as fate are now raising their voices with courage. Adolescent girls who once lived in fear are now shaping their futures with confidence. Communities are opening up to dialogue, mindsets are shifting, and institutional accountability is strengthening. Where there was silence, there are now questions; where there was fear, there is now trust; and where there was inequality, a new consciousness of equality is taking shape.
