✨ “Where courage awakens, change begins”

Moving from dependency to self-reliance, creating a new mindset, a new path, and a new future.

Our journey began in village homes where hunger and debt were everyday realities—yet we believed poverty is not destiny. During COVID, DVAS stood as a support system, helping Dalits, Adivasis, and migrant workers emerge as small entrepreneurs.

✨ From Crisis to Strength, From Debt to Dignity

When COVID-19 brought everything to a halt, thousands of migrant workers returned to their villages empty-handed. DVAS did not just provide relief—it restored the strength to rebuild lives. Around 5000 workers were connected to local employment, guiding them towards self-reliance. But the deeper struggle remained—many families, though freed from bonded labor, were trapped in cycles of debt. One loan leading to another, creating an invisible chain of bondage even after freedom. This is where change began—through Ambedkar Gram Committees, communities took charge of their own futures. Today, those same families, once burdened by debt and helplessness, are living with dignity, confidence, and stability through their skills. From fields to skills, from villages to markets—over 65,000 people have been connected to skill development, linking women to livelihoods, adolescent girls to self-reliance, and youth to employment. Today, women are no longer confined to their homes—they are becoming entrepreneurs by driving e-rickshaws, achieving financial independence, and inspiring one another. Now, change is not just visible—it is deeply felt. This is not just employment—it is a journey from fear to courage, from debt to freedom, and from helplessness to dignity.

🌼 Background: Breaking the Cycle of Poverty

“Poverty is not destiny—it is a cycle that can be broken with opportunity, skills, and courage.” DVAS works where people are left the furthest behind. During COVID, when thousands returned hungry and hopeless, DVAS helped nearly 1000 migrant workers find local employment and stand on their feet again. Families freed from bonded labor were still trapped in debt cycles—but today, through their skills and hard work, they are breaking free and living with dignity.

🎯 Objective: From Skills to Self-Reliance

DVAS does not just aim to increase income—it strives to build the belief: “I can do it.” Women are connected to farming, tailoring, and handicrafts; adolescent girls to the “Hunar” program; youth to skill and personality development and employment; and communities to MGNREGA and MSME schemes for sustainable income. “Here, people do not come to look for jobs—they come to build their dreams.”

🌾 Innovation Rooted in Community

“What exists in the village itself is the greatest strength—build the future from it.” Advanced organic farming, vegetable cultivation, traditional crops like millet and ragi, and group-based farming in collaboration with Pusa Agricultural University are creating dignified livelihoods. Through 100 Ambedkar Gram Committee cadres, kitchen gardens and nutrition initiatives are building household-level self-reliance. Through tailoring, embroidery, Madhubani painting, and handicrafts, women are building their identity—reaching markets through digital platforms. Through MSME linkages, APOs, and cooperatives, entrepreneurship is being nurtured. Startup and enterprise training is empowering people to build their own businesses. Street vending in cities, collective production in villages, and women driving e-rickshaws are not just economic activities—they are redefining social norms. Every skill is an opportunity, every group a strength, and every individual a potential entrepreneur.

🚀 From Training to Entrepreneurship

“Here, skills are not just taught—they transform lives.” Over 65,000 individuals are skilled, 1000 youth are placed in jobs, and 2000 families have become self-reliant through small enterprises. Under MSME initiatives, 6000 youth are being developed as entrepreneurs—moving beyond factory-bound work to building their own ventures. Today, people are not just job seekers—they are becoming job creators. One skill, one opportunity, and the right guidance can change a life.

🌺 Impact Journey: Lives Transformed

“This change is not just seen—it is felt, it lives within people.” A woman once burdened by debt now stands with dignity. A girl once confined now shapes her own future. A silent society now questions and finds solutions. “Where fear ends, self-respect begins—and where discrimination existed, foundations of equality and hope are now being built.” This is not just change—it is the beginning of new life stories.
